Experience overview.

Forklifts are one of the most used and relied upon pieces of warehousing machinery. While employees are lawfully required to obtain their forklift licence, the training involved often focuses on vehicle control and load stacking and lacks focus on the important aspect of inspection! It is common that many accidents involving forklifts steam from improper maintenance, something which could be easily avoided if employees had reported the damaged components. Next World’s VR Forklift Inspection teaches participants how to perform a complete pre-start checklist, covering both internal and external components.

    • Interact with multiple forklifts in difference states of wear and tear

    • Complete two inspections under exam conditions

Learning Outcomes

The central focus of this course is to teach employees how to complete a full scale forklift inspection from start to finish.

Identify and report faults in the external components of a forklift, including tires, wheels, forks, mast, load backrest, and overall machine condition.

Conduct an engine inspection by checking fluid levels, battery condition, and overall engine area for signs of damage or leaks.

Perform an internal inspection of a forklift by examining levers, controls, gauges, fall on protection structure, seat and seat belt, logbook, mirrors, and cabin interior for cleanliness, functionality, and presence of any damage or missing parts.

Apply proper inspection techniques, such as using checklists, taking photos of faults, and reporting identified issues on a tablet.

Follow the correct sequence and order of steps during a pre-start inspection, including external, engine, and internal inspections, and understand the importance of conducting a thorough inspection for maintaining safety and preventing accidents.
