The assessment starts in the control room where you put on different PPEs for protection from the chemicals used in the pipeline. Then you will get your work permit to start your work.
You will need to read the scheme of the pipes to shut down proper pumps and close correct valves. Then you go to the machine room to make manual lockout tagout procedures on the pipes involved in the maintenance. You will use walkie-talkie to communicate with the control room and barricade tape to separate the maintenance area. After that you will release the residual pressure in the pipeline, controlling it with the pressure gauges.
You will have to wash chemicals from the floor with the help of water.
After that you will go back to the control room to report the completion of the task.

Learning Outcomes

Permit and documentation handling:
- Review work permits and process cards, sign necessary documents, and follow proper authorization procedures.
PPE usage:
- Select, put on, and correctly secure all required personal protective equipment (suit, boots, hardhat, gloves, gas mask, protective glasses).
Equipment and tool preparation:
- Gather, transport, and correctly position tools, blockers, and valves for maintenance tasks.
Valve and system isolation:
- Close shut-off valves, install blockers and locks, and sign tags to ensure safe energy isolation.
Water system flushing:
- Connect hoses, operate water supply, and flush equipment safely, then disconnect and store hoses properly.
Inspection and verification
- Check flow meters, valves, and other equipment for correct operation and report findings to the supervisor.
Work area safety:
- Set up warning signs, tape off work areas, and maintain safe conditions during maintenance.
Task completion and handover:
- Return tools, signs, and keys, finalize documentation, and confirm task completion with the supervisor.

CONTACT USWhat is Custom VR Builds?
It’s a service where Next World creates a fully tailored VR-training solution for your company — a custom course built to meet your industry-specific requirements rather than using a generic off-the-shelf VR module.
How does the custom-build process work?
The process typically follows these phases: you provide training documentation, subject-matter experts get involved, learning outcomes are identified, storyboard is created, virtual assets are modeled, testing and quality assurance, and finally deployment in your environment.
What type of training scenarios can be built?
You can build VR scenarios for hazard awareness, safe-practice with tools and equipment, practicing safety procedures step-by-step, and even testing learner’s knowledge in simulated hazardous situations — as if in real life but safe.
Is custom VR suitable for refresher training as well?
Yes — custom VR builds can be used for refresher/training-update courses to efficiently refresh skills and knowledge without re-arranging real equipment or putting people at risk.
What learning methodology does custom VR follow?
Next World suggests a blended approach: combining face-to-face, practical and immersive training methods, which helps improve retention, practical competence, and reduces incidents.
